Chemex Wood Neck 6 cups

The Chemex coffee maker is one of the most widely used methods by baristas to prepare more instant coffees with less solid residue and clearer flavors and aromas. It's a drip method, which means the water passes through a layer of coffee and a filter, usually made of paper. Compared to a French Press, the Chemex gives you an incredibly clean cup of coffee. Its paper filters are 20% to 30% heavier than other filters so they can retain more of the oils suspended during the extraction process and prevent solids from passing through the filter.

The method itself consists of a glass device with a wooden washer in the middle, with a conical top that allows the filter paper to be held to store the ground coffee and then pour the hot water into it.
