The closing of the World of Coffee event in Copenhagen on June 29 marked the conclusion of the 2024 World Coffee Championships , where the final winners were crowned. Yi-Chen Xie of Taiwan emerged as the World Latte Art Champion, and Seung Chan Wi of South Korea won the World Coffee in Good Spirits competition.

At the World Latte Art Championship , Manuela Fensore of Italy placed second and Guoqiang Liu of China placed third. Meanwhile, Sandro Roth of Switzerland and Andrea Villa of Italy placed second and third, respectively, in the World Coffee in Good Spirits rankings.
During the three-day event in Denmark, four World Coffee Championships were held: the World Latte Art Championship, the Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, the Coffee Roasting Championship, and the Cezve/Ibrik Championship. The Best New Product Competition and the Coffee Design Awards were also held.
The World Latte Art Championship highlights artistic expression on a competitive platform that challenges baristas to an in-demand performance. Judges evaluate beverages based on visual attributes, creativity, identical patterns in pairs, contrast, and the barista's overall performance.
In the final round, competitors were required to make two different sets of free-pour latte patterns and one set of custom-designed lattes.
For the first time in the competition's history, competitors used a fully automatic espresso machine, extracting their shots with a Thermoplan Black&White Competizione.
In addition to the announcement of the winners, the World of Coffee event also revealed record attendance with more than 12,600 visitors from 140 different countries. This year, the event featured 492 exhibiting companies, marking the largest turnout to date.
